Lausanne: A wooden tower for Prilly
The competition for the 85-metre-high wooden Tilia Tower in Prilly has been decided: The Danish architectural firm 3XN and IttenBrechbühl from Bern are jointly planning the ambitious project on the outskirts of Lausanne.

Prilly near Lausanne is a region that is developing dynamically and rapidly. The Tilia Tower is intended to drive forward the activation of this up-and-coming district. The project was awarded in the course of an international competition announced by the Insula real estate company (part of the Realstone Group).
The concept of the cooperation between 3XN with offices in Copenhagen, Stockholm, New York, Sydney and London and the Swiss architecture firm IttenBrechbühl convinced the jury. The project comprises an 85-meter-high building with 37,000 square meters of floor space as well as the redesign and renovation of two neighboring buildings.
The new tower consists of apartments, a hotel, co-working/making spaces, restaurants, cafés and retail spaces. A plaza will be created in front of the new building, forming a high-quality green urban space. The Tilia Tower will be certified according to Minergie-P. (bw)
