Biel: Micro-living instead of hotel on the Taubenloch site
Eiffage Suisse is changing the plans for the Taubenloch development in the Bözingen district of Biel: Instead of the originally planned hotel, micro apartments are to be built.
Eiffage Suisse (formerly Priora) wanted to build on the plot at the exit of the Taubenloch gorge actually realize a superstructure with about 70 apartments and an Ibis hotel. The "hoch hinaus" project by Sollberger Bögli Architekten from Biel, which won the competition, envisages a residential tower and a lower hotel building.
According to Eiffage Suisse, these buildings will be realized as planned. However, instead of the hotel, 42 microapartments would be established. The units would range from 27 sqm to 64 sqm, and public spaces such as workspace, fitness center, lounge and garden seating area would be provided for tenants. The publicly accessible restaurant on the first floor would be realized as planned.
In the residential high-rise, the use remains unchanged according to the information: Here, 69 apartments between 52 sqm and 105 sqm (including four lofts of 46 sqm each) and a commercial space of just under 50 sqm on the first floor are planned. (ah)
