Horgen: Building site A of the Realstone project completed
In Horgen-Oberdorf (ZH), half of the 77 apartments in construction phase A of the quarter built by Realstone Development Fund have been completed, with the second half to follow on April 1, 2021. All of the apartments in construction phase A "Park" have been leased.
According to the fund management of the Realstone Development Fund, work will continue on the following sections with over 400 apartments and 12,000 sqm of commercial and office space. In the summer of 2022, it would be the turn of the 134 apartments of Section C "Square", most of which are already reserved, according to the fund.
The development of the new quarter continues with construction area B "Factory", which comprises 200 apartments as well as commercial space. The facade of the listed building of the old Schweiter textile factory will be retained; two additional buildings will be erected directly adjacent to the factory building.
Once this construction work has been completed, the new quarter will be directly connected to the SBB railroad station Horgen-Oberdorf by a passerelle. According to the information provided, the entire quarter of the Realstone Development Fund has been designed to keep its ecological footprint as low as possible. It will be built with high-quality and sustainable materials; energy will be supplied by photovoltaic systems on the roofs and geothermal heat pumps, and the residual heat from the servers of the neighboring building will be used to heat water.
