Trimbach: "Areal Breiti Trimbach" is a step closer
In Trimbach (SO), the project "Areal Breiti Trimbach" is intended to create a new center district with high-quality living space. The results of the study contract are available.

In 2022, cookie production on the Breiti site in the municipality of Trimbach will be discontinued and relocated to Malters (LU), to the headquarters of HUG AG.
As the new owner of the vacant site, Aare Liegenschaften AG intends to work with the municipality to create a lively neighborhood with a high quality of living and recreation over the next few years; around 150 new apartments are planned.
The project of Rykart Architekten AG, which convinced the jury in the study commission, is to be realized. The proposal envisages a small number of compact buildings with efficient access. Four 4- to 6-story buildings are to be built in the front, flatter part of the site, and three taller buildings in the rear area at the edge of the forest.
The three buildings in the west are intended for condominiums, the four others for rental apartments. A total of around 150 rental and owner-occupied apartments are to be built, plus a parking garage, parking spaces and bicycle parking.
The residential offer is supplemented with public neighborhood uses. On Baslerstrasse, the "Wernli Haus" marks the entrance to the site as a witness to Trimbach's industrial history; the shortened extension frames a tree-lined square with the existing office building and the new studio building. On the first floor, store, studio or office uses are planned along the street.
The new residential development with the so-called neighborhood square further up forms a self-contained settlement in which flower meadows, playground, play lawn, barbecue area and tree grove can find their place. The open Gämpfibach, which flows through the entire area, is to become the identity-forming element of the new development. The location in the center of the village and the good connections to public and private transport are ideal for a neighborhood development; the settlement itself is to remain car-free.
