Reinach: UBS AST-KIS plans replacement for Kantonalbank high-rise building
The Angensteinerplatz in the center of Reinach (BL) is to undergo a fundamental change. The owner UBS Investment Foundation 1 - UBS AST Commercial Real Estate Switzerland wants to replace the Cantonal Bank high-rise with a new building.
According to the municipality of Reinach, UBS Investment Foundation 1 - UBS AST Commercial Real Estate Switzerland wants to demolish the Cantonal Bank high-rise and replace it with a 54-meter-high, 16-story building. A four-story point building is planned next to it. The current above-ground parking lot is to be transformed into a meeting place.
The first floors of the Punkt building are reportedly planned to include retail space, including for a new Cantonal Bank branch, and a café on Angensteinerplatz. Residential space is to be built on the upper floors. The Angensteinerplatz neighborhood plan is still open for public participation until April 30.
The project is not the only one in the center of Reinach: On the adjacent site, where the post office, Migros and drugstore, among others, are located, Spaini Immobilien AG is developing the Im Zentrum neighborhood plan. A 55-meter-high building is to be constructed there, which will include space for services as well as apartments. (ah)
