Lucerne North: Halter may build at Seetalplatz
The bidding consortium Wir sind Stadtgarten/Halter AG has been awarded the building plots B1-B3 at Seetalplatz in Emmen. Residential and commercial buildings are to be built on a 17,000 sqm site.
In September 2020, the canton of Lucerne invited tenders for the construction sites, and after the conclusion of the two-stage procedure, the bidding consortium Wir sind Stadtgarten/Halter AG was awarded the contract. According to the canton, the consortium has founded a housing cooperative based in Lucerne to implement and manage the project. The canton is awarding the building lease for 70 years, with a 30-year extension option. The contract will start in July 2021.
According to the government council, almost a dozen investors have submitted bids for the building sites. The concept of the bidding consortium Wir sind Stadtgarten and Halter was convincing both economically and in terms of use. In addition to a balanced mix of apartments in terms of price and space, there are also plans for age-appropriate housing, commercial, office and studio space, which will allow for a mix of uses and social diversity. Ecological sustainability will be achieved with the SNBS and Minergie-P-Eco labels as well as the connection to the Seetalplatz heating network.
In order to ensure a high quality of the development, a competition procedure is to be carried out. The three buildings are to be completed by 2026/27 and will help shape the new Lucerne North district. (ah)
