Geneva: Start of construction for new Côté Parc district
Construction has begun on the Côté Parc project in the Petit-Saconnex district of Geneva. MRPS Maison de Retraite du Petit-Saconnex, Losinger-Marazzi and La Foncière are building a development for 600 residents.

The new Côté Parc district in Petit-Saconnex will one day offer 216 affordable apartments on 19,300 sqm of gross floor area, ranging from studios to 6-room apartments. To this end, the existing Azalées buildings will be raised and extended, and the Dahlia building will also be extended. In addition, two new buildings will be constructed and a small connecting building will be demolished. In addition to the apartments, Côté Parc will also be a medical center, a nursery with 57 places, an apartment hotel with 99 rooms of the brand Residence Inn and commercial areas. The adjacent park is to be opened up and upgraded, and there are also plans for a path for senior citizens and a fruit and vegetable garden for the residents of the new district.
The new residential area, just a few minutes from the centre of Geneva, is car-free, but an underground car park with over 330 bicycle and 195 car parking spaces will be created. Bus and tram stops are located in the immediate vicinity.
The building permit has been legally binding since May 21, and preparatory work is currently underway. Shell construction is scheduled to begin in the fall, and the first houses are planned to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2023. Côté Parc is scheduled for completion by 2024. (ah)
