Lucerne: LUKS to build underground car park with 540 spaces
In connection with the new construction of the Children's Hospital and the Women's Clinic, the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) is also building an underground parking garage. The building application has been submitted these days.

The Cantonal Hospital Lucerne is building a new children's hospital/women's clinic for pediatrics and pediatric surgery as well as obstetrics and gynecology by the end of 2025. The building application for the associated underground parking has now been submitted. According to the LUKS, the tenders for the corresponding shell construction are to be launched in the fall.
Plans call for 540 parking spaces on the second and third basement levels of the new building, covering a total area of 22,000 square meters. The underground parking garage is to replace the above-ground parking garage on Spitalstrasse. In a first step, 18 of the approximately 540 parking spaces will be equipped with electric charging stations. Depending on demand, this number could be increased to 260, LUKS said in a statement.
According to plans, construction of the underground parking levels will begin in mid-2022, when the building permit for the core of the new building complex with the children's hospital and gynecological clinic will also be submitted. Completion of construction is scheduled for the end of 2025 and commissioning for 2026. The first basement level of the new building will also house the Parking hall of the rescue service integrated.
