The site on the corner of Steinbachstrasse and Neumattstrasse next to the high-rise residential building built in 1975 has lain fallow since the Migros branch moved in 2017. The landowner Axa Leben AG wants to build a dense residential development there. The concept for the development envisages point buildings. Because of the neighboring high-rise building and the very good location in terms of traffic, the height was defined as 7, 5 and 4 full stories. However, these storeys were heavily criticized in the objection negotiations after the public announcement, according to the municipality of Belp. The character of the surrounding neighborhoods was not taken into account enough, so one argument.

As announced by the municipal council, the point buildings will now have only 5, 4 and 3 full stories. The minimum boundary distance to the eastern side is set at 6 meters. The provisions for building on the high-rise plot will be decided by the voters of the municipality on September 26, 2021, as part of the vote on the new local planning. (ah)
