The building permit for the Unity development became legally binding in August, meaning that construction work can soon begin. Steiner is building six apartment buildings with a total of 47 condominiums (2.5 to 5.5 rooms). The development will also have a parking garage with 51 parking spaces. A traffic-free open space will be created in the middle of the site; in addition, the cantonally protected villa "Zur Eintracht", built in 1811/12, will also become part of the new ensemble.

The apartments are in the low-price segment, which is why Steiner says it is realizing the development in a cost-optimized manner. According to the project developer, this includes uniform windows in all buildings, minimized living space and standardized wet rooms in all apartments. The residential units are accessed via free-standing staircases and arcades, some of which are made of prefabricated concrete elements. (ah)
