Thun: Start of construction on the Comadur site draws closer
The PKSAV pension fund is planning a residential and commercial development on the Comadur site in Thun (BE). The city council will soon decide on the necessary zoning change.
The pension fund of the Swiss Bar Association (PKSAV) wants to build a new development on the site formerly used by the watch supplier Comadur at Bernstrasse 11 in Thun. The Capybara project by Schwabe Suter Architekten and Studio Vulkan Landschaftsarchitektur is to be implemented, providing for a mix of uses in three new buildings and the former watch factory building, comprising 60 small and family apartments and public-oriented service areas on the ground floors.
Following the presentation of the plan, Thun City Council intends to decide on the zoning plan amendment on 23 September. One of four objections is still pending; the canton will decide on this as part of the approval procedure. The planning should become legally binding in the first quarter of 2022, followed by the building permit procedure. The realization of the development is scheduled to begin in 2022/23. (ah)
