Only 70 apartments were previously available on the hillside site - Porr Suisse has implemented a densification project for the Zurich Investment Foundation that significantly increases the number of residential units.

The four 4- to 5-storey new buildings offer a total floor area of 20,800 sqm and a total of 129 apartments. The row buildings with projecting and receding façades form a settlement space parallel to the slope, which opens up to the course of the Hüslibach stream in the south. Between the rows of houses lies an outdoor space that widens into a green area to the south. The development also includes a community room and two underground garages with 82 underground parking spaces, 402 bicycle and ten motorcycle parking spaces. According to Porr Suisse, the project will be certified according to the LEED Gold Standard.

After two years of construction, the four houses were handed over to the client, Zurich Investment Foundation, in staggered stages in mid-May, at the end of July and at the end of August. The environmental work was also completed in October. According to Porr Suisse, the groundwater welling up in the excavation pit was a particular challenge during the work. The buildings were therefore founded on a 40 cm thick rubble box to collect and divert the spring-like groundwater upsurge. The floor slabs of the houses rest fully on the rubble box and support the load. (ah)
