Olten: Start of construction for Lindt & Sprüngli project
Lindt & Sprüngli is expanding its site in Olten. The plant's capacity is set to increase by 50% from 2024.
The Lindt & Sprüngli Group has started to expand its production site in Olten. According to media reports, around CHF 74 million will be invested in the expansion of the Lindt Cocoa Center at Industriestrasse 152 by 2024. Over the next two years, two new cocoa mass lines will be installed in a new building there; the associated tank farm with a new loading hall will be built in another new building.
A new workshop for maintenance work will also be integrated into the second new building. The project also includes a new administration building with cloakrooms, social rooms and a laboratory, as well as a passageway connecting the new and old buildings.
The expansion and modernization of the Lindt Cocoa Center will make it possible to increase the capacity of the plant by 50% from 2024 and to meet the expected market demand, according to Lindt & Sprüngli. (bw)
