Marc Pointet, CEO of Ina Invest, says he is confident of having the Lokstadt halls fully let by the end of the year. On a total of 8,200 sqm, "versatile, crowd-pleasing uses are to be brought together under one roof". It is already certain that the German Success Hotel Group will open Switzerland's first Radisson Red Hotel in the Lokstadt as a franchisee. The hotel will occupy an area of 6,600 sqm in the Habersack Hall, parts of the Draisine Hall and the head building, as well as in the adjacent Tigerli, and will offer around 180 rooms and a restaurant. According to Ina Invest, the building application for the hotel is to be submitted at the end of this year. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2022, and the hotel should be ready for occupancy in autumn 2024.

A rental agreement has been signed with the City of Winterthur for the remaining 930 sqm of space in the Draisine hall. The city wants to accommodate two primary school classes and two kindergarten classes there. In addition to the classrooms, the children will also be able to use a 300 sqm roof terrace. The building application for the kindergarten has already been submitted and the building permit is expected by the end of this year. At the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year, the kindergarten should be in operation.

According to Ina Invest, contract negotiations with another anchor tenant for the space in the Rapide hall are "well advanced". Meanwhile, the topping-out ceremony for the Tender and Elefant buildings was celebrated on 2 November. (ah)
