Andermatt: ASA sells one third more apartments than in 2020
Andermatt Swiss Alps AG (ASA) has sold a third more residential units so far this year than last year. Construction of further apartment buildings is due to start next spring.
According to Andermatt-Swiss Alps CEO Raphael Krucker, 408 of the 420 completed holiday apartments in the new Andermatt Reuss village district, including the Radisson Blu Reussen and The Chedi Andermatt, have now been sold. In the current year, demand has risen sharply and more than 100 units have been sold. This is an increase of more than one third compared to the previous year. In the coming months, 130 new apartments around the Piazza Gottardo will be handed over to their owners.
The apartment buildings stand on a so-called infrastructure base. In order for new houses to be built, this base will be further expanded and extended to around 20,000 sqm. According to ASA CEO Krucker, this is one of the largest construction projects in the Alps. This would allow Andermatt Reuss to be expanded by another 16 apartment buildings and two shopping alleys with retail and gastronomic offers. The base also includes 325 new parking spaces, a third of which will have electric charging stations. The plan is to start building more apartment buildings in spring 2022. Two of the new houses will be marketed from December 2021: Haus Elva with eleven residential units, sauna and gym, and Haus Mira with 18 mezzanine apartments. (ah)
