The Abendrot Pension Fund has purchased the site of the former Binkert printing works. The site, located directly next to Laufenburg railway station, is to be redeveloped.

The site at Baslerstrasse 15 in Laufenburg was used by the Binkert printing company until 2017. The Abendrot Foundation bought it from the Binkert family in November 2021 in order to "create a new lively place for living and working", as the pension fund writes.

There are currently four buildings on the site: the Shedhalle, which was built in 1887 as part of a textile factory; the Druckereigebäude, a three-storey head building dating from 1914; the garage building in the southern part of the site; and the Druckereihalle, which was built in 1988. In 2017, the printing business and the associated publishing house were sold, and since then there has been no more ducking on the site. According to the Abendrot Foundation, the premises are partly empty, partly used by a heterogeneous tenant base, including a metal processing company, as a warehouse for a coffee machine distributor and a furniture manufacturer.

According to the foundation, the site has the potential for complementary development. They have already begun to draft scenarios for the conversion and development of the site into living and working space. Planning partners are to be brought on board for the concrete planning. The preservation of historical monuments is currently taking stock of the Shedhalle and the head building. (ah)
