Abau plans replacement building in Telli in Aarau
The Abau Allgemeine Wohnbaugenossenschaft Aarau und Umgebung wants to develop its Telli estate and replace the residential buildings to the west of the Mühlbergweg with a new building.
The Telli estate of the Abau cooperative is located between Girixweg, Maienzugstrasse, Eversweg and Aurorastrasse and is bisected by Mühlbergweg. The Abau has acquired the Mühlbergweg from the city of Aarau and wants to make it car-free in order to strengthen the unity of the settlement. But further innovations are planned: The starting point of the settlement development was a replacement new building from 2003 in the southwest corner at Eversweg 2. Now Abau is ushering in the next phase: The residential buildings from the early 1950s west of Mühlbergweg are to be replaced by a new building.
The project envisages two four-storey structures that create a green space at the heart of the settlement via a connecting arcade. Among other things, a community house is to be built here. A total of 42 apartments with sizes ranging from 2.5 to 6.5 rooms will be built. A parking garage and a ground-floor covered hall for two-wheelers are also planned.
The building permit is expected to be issued in spring 2022, and construction is scheduled to start in winter 2022. The apartments are expected to be ready for occupation in summer 2024. According to Abau, the construction costs amount to CHF 18.29 million. The cooperative plans to continue building from 2045, when it will replace the three rows of apartments to the east. (ah)
