With the approval of the design plan "Siedlung Grabenacker" by the Winterthur city parliament, a further milestone has been reached for the structural further development of the listed settlement, the HGW Heimstätten-Genossenschaft Winterthur informs.

The cooperative wants to repair the row houses from the post-war period and construct new buildings that will create additional living space for around 100 people. According to HGW, mainly smaller apartments are planned here, which should contribute to the mix of the settlement.

Now the cantonal building authorities must decide on the design plan; the decision is expected in the second quarter of this year. Construction work on the refurbishment can begin in 2023 once the appeal period has expired and approval has been granted by the building authorities. Construction is to be carried out in stages, also in order to be able to provide the residents of the settlement with transitional living space at any time. (ah)
