Plans for new city hotel in Lucerne
A city hotel is to be built in the Tribschen district of Lucerne by 2025. To this end, the HGC office building will be demolished and replaced by a new building.
In Lucerne's up-and-coming Tribschen district, the office building of the HGC Commerciale trading cooperative and the Central Switzerland Master Builders' Association (ZBV), built in the mid-1970s, is to be replaced by a new building. Eberli AG from Sarnen has been commissioned with the overall project management.
According to Eberli, the aging property is to be replaced by a family, business and vacation hotel with around 140 rooms. The hotel will be built according to the plans of Lucerne-based architects Lütolf und Scheuner Architekten, who were the winners of the 2021 architectural competition. The future three-star superior hotel will be operated by Tavolago AG, a subsidiary of the SGV shipping company, which already runs numerous restaurants in the region. (bw)
