Large construction project planned in the center of Cham
On Sinserstrasse in the center of Cham, three landowners want to build a residential project with commercial use on the first floors.
At Sinserstrasse 3-13 in Cham, directly adjacent to the Raiffeisenbank building, the existing buildings are to be demolished and replaced by new buildings. Three buildings are planned with apartments of various sizes on the upper floors. The first floor areas facing Sinserstrasse are to be used for commercial purposes. Between the building volumes, community gardens are planned. The project is based on a design by Amrein Herzig Architekten from Baar, who won an architectural competition.
The three landowners in the area have joined forces to realize the project. In order to be able to implement it, a development plan is required, which must be approved by the voters of Cham. An indicative project for the development plan is still in informal public participation until mid-March. In the spring of 2023, the first public circulation of the development plan should take place after the preliminary examination by the canton has been completed. It is expected that the development plan can then be voted on in the winter of 2023/2024. (ah)
