Senn buys building plots on the Baselink site in Allschwil
The project developer Senn has acquired Building Plots C in the Baselink site in Allschwil. They comprise a usable area of 40,000 sqm.
The Baselink site in the Bachgraben area of Allschwil comprises a total of 16 construction sites; companies and institutions from the life science sector in particular are to settle here. Over the next few years, 5,000 to 8,000 jobs will be created on more than 100,000 square meters of floor space. Pharmaceutical companies such as Abbott, Idorsia and Polyphor have already settled on the Baselink site, and others will follow.
As the real estate developer Senn announces, it has acquired the building plots C in building law. With a usable area of 40,000 sqm, these offer a lot of potential for further development of the site, the company says. Managing director Johannes Senn says they are currently in the process of test planning to meet the high demand for laboratory space.
Senn is already active on other construction sites on the site. For example, the company has developed the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area Main Campus, which, with 50,000 sqm, is considered the central component of the Baselink site. Among other things, Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area will set up its headquarters in this building designed by Herzog & de Meuron. Senn is also involved in the Hortus project, a sustainable office building that aims to pay back gray building energy and be energy positive after about 30 years. Building site A4 was put out to tender by Senn in a project competition. Here, the architects Felippi Wyssen are realizing a center for patient-oriented research. (ah)
