Lucerne: Clear yes to ABL project with 51 apartments
The cooperative members have approved the framework credit for a project on Industriestrasse for the Lucerne General Building Cooperative.

The cooperative members of the Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Luzern ABL have approved the construction of 51 apartments on the Industriestrasse site. In a written ballot, the members approved thee with 91.5% votes in favor, the framework cirdit of 28.4 million CHF for the new buildings. ABL is one of five cooperatives in the Cooperation Industriestrasse (KIL) association. The overall project comprises 145 apartments and 924 square meters of service and commercial space, including a city kindergarten.
The designs for the four ABL houses along the Geissensteinring are by architects Rolf Mühlethaler from Bern and Roeoesli & Maeder from Lucerne.
By May, all partner cooperatives of the overall project should have the approval of their members together. After that, the building application for the overall project will be submitted. The building permit is expected to be received by the end of 2022, and construction is expected to start in early 2023. According to the plan, the first apartments can be occupied in spring 2025, those of ABL in 2026.
The cooperatives Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Luzern ABL, Baugenossenschaft Wohnwerk Luzern, Liberale Baugenossenschaft Luzern, Gemeinnützige Wohnbaugenossenschaft Industriestrasse GWI and WOGENO Luzern Genossenschaft participate in KIL as equal partners.
