Plazza has laid the foundation stone for the first stage of the Quartier L'Orée in Crissier in the west of Lausanne. In the first construction phase, new apartments, a school, commercial premises and neighborhood stores will be built by 2024. A retirement and nursing home is also being built on the site by the La Rozavère Foundation with financial support from the canton of Vaud.
The overall L'Orée project includes the construction of more than 500 apartments for 1,000 people and 16,000 square meters of commercial space, as well as an underground parking garage, on a site area of 67,000 square meters. According to Plazza, the new housing will be aimed at families, couples, seniors and students. The neighborhood will have a green area with views of the Alps and the Jura Mountains, and its energy supply will be based mainly on renewable resources such as local district heating and solar energy.
Plazza puts the total investment for the project at CHF 300 million. (ah)
