The Klosterbrühl in Wettingen (AG), one of the oldest housing estates of Lägern Wohnen, no longer meets today's requirements. Since renovation is not economically viable, a new replacement building is to be constructed. The housing cooperative is planning to invest CHF 110 million in this; the members have now approved the corresponding loan agreement.

Specifically, a total of 127 old apartments are to be demolished and 222 new residential units (2.5 to 5.5 rooms) built; rents are to be ten to 20 percent below market rates. The first construction phase is planned from 2023 to 2025, with the second and final stage scheduled for completion at the end of 2027. A kindergarten will also be integrated into the new housing development. (ah)
