Immofonds is buying a residential property at Via Crocetta 25, 25A, 27, 27A in Lugano. This extends the regional coverage to southern Switzerland, the fund management says.

The property consists of four apartment buildings with a total of 48 apartments (1.5 to 4.5 rooms). They are located in an attractive residential area in the district of Viganello: Due to a slight slope, the houses are very well exposed to the sun and have an unobstructable distant view, according to the fund management.

The buildings were constructed in 1975 and renovated in 2009. According to the fund management, they are in good condition. In the next few years, the fossil heating system will be replaced by an environmentally friendly one and the use of photovoltaics will be examined.

In Immofonds Asset Management's view, the demographic situation speaks in favor of an investment in Lugano: The municipality of Lugano, with its current population of around 60,000, will grow significantly faster than the Swiss average over the next 20 years. (ah)
