Canton St. Gallen launches property database
The Canton of St. Gallen's location promotion department has launched an online portal for business sites. The aim is to help investors find suitable sites in the canton.
The search for areas for new companies to settle as well as for planned expansions of already established companies is becoming increasingly difficult, writes the canton of St. Gallen in a statement. Although information on a large part of the economic areas, settlement gaps and current site developments is publicly available, it is usually difficult to access. With the online portal economy-areas-sg.ch are now intended to bundle this information and make it more easily accessible.
The portal is aimed at investors and landowners and, according to the canton, aims to make optimum use of land reserves. The focus is on properties for work use, while areas for residential use play hardly any role.
The new offer is based on an internal real estate database for areas and industrial and commercial objects in operation of the Office of Economy and Labor.
