SZB opens surgery center near Biel train station

The Spitalzentrum Biel (SZB) already began four years ago with the development of an outpatient service near the train station. The health center "Medin am Bahnhof" was last expanded a year ago, and now "Medin au Lac" is being added as an outpatient surgery center. It is located at Aarbergstrasse 52, in the former premises of the Limelight Spa and in the immediate vicinity of the Residenz au Lac.

From mid-August, operations will be performed in the new surgery center. According to the SZB, the specialists of the center hospital will perform outpatient operations of ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, hand as well as foot surgery mainly in the new Medin au Lac. As part of the outpatient services at the Biel-Bienne train station, the creation of an additional dialysis unit is also planned for 2023, according to the SZB. (ah)
