Andermatt Swiss Alps plans another resort
Andermatt Swiss Alps AG wants to build a new part of the village in Dieni/Sedrun. The investment volume is to amount to CHF 170 million.
Andermatt Swiss Alps AG (ASA) has announced that it will also invest on the Graubünden side of the Oberalp Pass for the first time: Construction is to take place at the end of the valley in Sedrun/Dieni, where there is currently a parking lot opposite the Dieni valley station of the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun. By 2027, the company plans to create 13 buildings with 410 hotel rooms in various categories. More than 200 hostel rooms and just as many double and triple rooms are planned. In addition, 119 residential units - from studios to 5.5-room apartments - will be sold and managed for tourism. Resort Dieni Development AG, which is part of ASA, has already submitted a building application for this.
ASA CEO Raphael Krucker described the Resort Dieni as a "groundbreaking project that sets new standards in the region and in the canton of Graubünden". It will include a total of 1,800 beds, as well as three restaurants, two bars, various retail spaces and leisure facilities such as a spa, bowling, bouldering, cinema, fitness and gaming. According to Krucker, ASA will invest CHF 170 million in the project.
The target group of the new resort are families and group travelers: The aim is to complement the tourist offer in Sedrun in the direction of affordable apartments and hotel rooms geared to families/groups, writes ASA in a statement.
Resort Dieni Development AG (RDD) is the developer of the large-scale project, while ASA and its partner company Orascom Hotel Management will act as operators. A third party as a joint venture partner is conceivable, writes ASA in the release. (ah)
