Behind the project is Karlsruhe-based Cemagg, a Schapira Group company that describes itself as an investor in wholesale and retail real estate, shopping centers, nursing homes, logistics and offices. Cemagg also manages the German shopping centers Postgalerie Karlsruhe, Schwanenmarkt in Krefeld and Hofgarten Solingen.

At the opening ceremony, Andreas Thielemeier of Cemagg explicitly stated that the Weiler shopping center is particularly targeting customers from Switzerland: "That's why we built the shopping center here in Weil am Rhein, because 50, 60 % are Swiss customers," he is quoted as saying by the German radio station SWR. According to SWR, the investment costs for the project, which in the meantime were stated at 100 million euros, are now estimated at 160 million euros.

Tenants include fashion chains such as Peek&Cloppenburg, Abercrombie&Fitch and Hollister, and supermarkets such as Rewe and Lidl. The architecture is the work of Chapman Taylor. (aw)
