New use for old Klybeck canteen in Basel
The well-known canteen on the Klybeck site in Basel will in future be used as a production site and for events.
Ryago AG, which belongs to the Wyniger Group, is renting the premises of the well-known Klybeck canteen on the site of Rhystadt AG. According to the real estate company, Ryago will use the former large kitchen on the second floor of building WKL-610 as a production site. In the future, the restaurant area will be used as an event space, such as for occasions, trade fairs, meetings or wedding celebrations.
The former Klybeck works canteen is considered one of the icons of industrial history on the development site. The WKL-610 will be part of the new Klybeckplatz, which forms the center of the new urban district in the urban planning model for the transformation of the area.
Ryago is a catering service provider in the Basel region and supplies events and provides catering in private clinics, retirement homes, canteens or daycare centers. It is part of the Basel-based Wyniger Gastro Group. The site in WKL-610 will be Ryago's third production location. The location in the Klybeck area is ideal, as there is a direct connection to the freeway and to foreign countries close to the border via the northern tangent and at the same time there are direct delivery routes into the city, says Ryago managing director Lukas Zeitman.
