The modernization of the hospital complex in Basel took place during ongoing operations. Work began in 2015 with the renovation of the facade of the original old building dating from 1928. An entrance pavilion was also created. From 2017 to 2020, it was the turn of the replacement Hirzbrunnen building, which is connected to the main building, followed by the deconstruction and new construction of another part of the hospital by February 2022.

The Claraspital in Basel is a privately run acute care hospital with 210 beds and around 11,000 inpatients each year. (aw)
