Lika Group plans rehabilitation clinic in Sevelen
A rehabilitation clinic with a spa and hotel is to be built on the site of the former Bad Rans cooperative north of Sevelen.
The Lika Group bought the property in the north of Sevelen (SG) in December 2021. It used to belong to the Bad Rans cooperative, which wanted to build a four-star park hotel there. The project has never been realized and more than eleven years ago bankruptcy was imposed on the cooperative.
The new owner, Lika Group, wants to build a rehabilitation clinic with a spa and hotel on the site; according to the company, it is to become "a lighthouse project of supraregional significance."
To this end, Neue Haus AG, a subsidiary of Lika Holding AG, is conducting an ideas competition. The winner will be awarded the contract for architectural and landscape architecture services, Lika announces.
Specifically, an anonymous, private ideas competition will selectively choose two projects for further development. The opening of the award decision is scheduled for the end of June 2023, Lika said. The selected projects will be studied in greater depth by their respective authors. The jury includes landscape architect Rita Mettler, architect Markus Hotz and architect Tilla Theus, as well as representatives of the municipality and the canton of St. Gallen. (ah)
