Close to the train station in Rolle (VD), La Cité du Vin is a new district with a wide range of residential, commercial, artisanal and other public uses.

The site was previously known as the wine production location of Schenk AG and will continue to be used by the company in the northern area. In the southern part of the site, Halter AG is developing the new development together with Helvetia Versicherungen, Previs Vorsorge and Raiffeisen Pensionskasse as investors.

A digital architecture and landscape architecture competition, won by the project of Studio Vulkan Landscape Architecture with LRS Architectes and LVPH Architectes, shows what the new urban quarter will look like.

Their concept "La Cité du Vin" includes the development of a new building with industrial character in the southern part of the quarter. In the north, a public park with various play areas and squares is planned, and further buildings with apartments are placed within the park.

Halter AG expects to receive the building permit in mid-2023. Construction could then start in the second half of 2024, with completion planned from mid-2027. (ah)
