The groundbreaking ceremony for the Pilatus Arena in Kriens (LU) was celebrated on November 29. The project is named after a sports and event arena that will offer space for 4,000 spectators. The Pilatus Arena will host national and international sporting events, as well as concerts, congresses and conferences. In order to finance the construction of the arena, a shell development with 370 rental and owner-occupied apartments as well as small apartments is being built. The building is being designed by Giuliani Hönger Architekten from Zurich, which won the study contract in 2018.

Completion of the shell buildings is scheduled for the first half of 2025. Both the arena and the rental apartment building at Mattenplatz are scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026, with completion of Pilatus Tower expected to follow in the second half of 2026.

Pilatus Arena AG is the developer of the Pilatus Tower and the Pilatus Arena. Helvetia Versicherungen is the developer of the rental apartment building on Mattenplatz. Marbet Immobilien from Lucerne is the investor for the base building in Pilatus Tower. Halter AG Lucerne, which is also the majority shareholder of Pilatus Arena AG, is responsible for the realization of the overall project.

The total investment amounts to over CHF 200 million. (ah)
