Berne: Halter starts construction work on Meinen site
Halter AG has been selected as the total contractor for the redevelopment of the Meinen site with 185 apartments and will start work in the next few days.
A new neighborhood center is being built in Bern's Mattenhof district. The pension fund for doctors and veterinarians (PAT-BVG) is planning a development in the area of the current Meinen site with an expected 184 apartments as well as retail and service areas. In cooperation with the city, a development plan is being drawn up.
In the meantime, Halter AG from Bern has been selected as the general contractor for the new development of the Meinen site. The company will already start the first work in the next few days. Deconstruction is scheduled to start in January 2023, followed by the start of civil engineering work. The project is to be completed in stages by 2026. The newly created rental apartments are expected to be ready for occupancy from 2026.
An area of 2,500 sqm is planned for retail, commercial, offices, smaller stores and studios. These commercial spaces are mainly located on the first floor along Brunnmattstrasse. In the basement, areas for a retailer are planned. (aw)
