Bern: SV Group opens second Stay Kooook Hotel
Bern's new Stay Kooook hotel is located in the historic old town, in the building of the former Hotel Metropole. PSP Swiss Property has extensively renovated the property.
SV Group remains on course for expansion with its Stay Kooook concept: Following its launch in 2020 in Bern Wankdorf, the brand's second property has now opened in Bern. A hotel in Geneva, among other places, is to follow in 2024.
The Stay Kooook Bern City is located in a partially listed building on Waisenhausplatz, the former Hotel Metropol. It has 85 rooms in six categories, as well as a communal space called The Flat, which includes a kitchen, a dining and work area, a living room with a small library, a game room and a loggia. While Bern's first hotel in Wankdorf is aimed as an extended-stay property at guests planning a longer stay, business and city travelers as well as weekend guests are the target group of the downtown property.
PSP Swiss Property, the owner of the property, has extensively renovated the historic building over the past two years. Many of the original features were preserved, including the staircase, stucco ceiling and wall paneling. An Italian restaurant with a wine lounge has moved into the first floor. (ah)
