Sissach: Designs for Helvetia project on Tobler site selected

The Tobler site in Sissach (BL) is being developed according to plans by Harry Gugger Studio and Stauffer Rösch Landscape Architects. Their winning project is called "Rösslihof Sissach" and includes 45 apartments as well as silent commerce.

The owner of the former Tobler site at Sissach train station is Helvetia Insurance. The basis for the planned development is the spatial development concept that the municipality of Sissach adopted in 2019. In a next step, the neighborhood plan will be developed, which will finally be presented to the municipal assembly. The project in its current form emerged from an urban planning study commission that Helvetia Versicherungen carried out last year in consultation with the municipality of Sissach. Four renowned architectural firms from the region were invited to participate.

Buildings are now to be constructed that will fit in as an ensemble between the historic town center and the train station. A row of buildings along Bahnhofstrasse will provide noise protection for the rear part of the site. The building along Bahnhofstrasse and the nine-story building at the corner of Rössligasse and Bahnhofstrasse will have photovoltaic facades. (aw)
