Architecture: A Mipim Award goes to Switzerland
At the international real estate fair Mipim in Cannes, Audemars Piguet's new watch manufacture in Le Locle (NE) has been honored with one of the coveted awards.
The building, designed by Kunik de Morsier Architectes, received the Mipim Award in the category "Best Industrial & Logistics Project". The complex was built in a rural setting, with the manufacturing tracts embedded horizontally in the hilly landscape of the Jura Mountains. When aligning the rooms, the architects paid special attention to the use of natural light. In addition, a meeting place for the employees was created in the center of the property. The building was designed by the watchmaker Audemars Piguet itself.
Every year, the Mipim Awards honor the most outstanding real estate projects worldwide. With well over 20,000 participants, Mipim is one of the largest events for the international real estate industry. (aw)
