Toffen: Groundbreaking ceremony for Halter AG superstructure
In the municipality of Toffen in the canton of Bern, construction of the Toffematt housing estate has begun. Halter AG is constructing three new buildings with condominiums.
Halter AG is building the Toffematt development on a plot of land at the foot of the Längenberg. The development comprises three new buildings in which a total of 30 condominiums with 2.5 to 5.5 rooms are being built.
Condominiums instead of cooperative apartments
According to Halter, the real estate company acquired the right to purchase the plots in October 2019 and at the same time promised to offer the resulting living space in the community of Toffen in a moderate price environment. Initially, the classic carrier model of cooperative housing for rent had been considered. However, it had become apparent that condominium ownership was still a great need among the population. For this reason, the Toffematt housing cooperative, which was founded in 2021, acquired the plots, and Halter AG is developing the development as a residential property project with building rights.
Purchase prices to be up to 20 percent below market
According to Halter, the sponsorship model of the housing cooperative (WBG) as a building lease provider enables condominium ownership in the Toffematt settlement with purchase prices of 10% to 20% below market prices. Buyers of the apartments join the WBG and pay an annual interest to the cooperative.
As the real estate company further announces, half of the apartments have already been reserved. Occupancy is expected to take place in October 2024. (ah)
