Apartments for locals are to be built on the site of the former Davos Valbella high-altitude clinic. According to the municipality of Davos, a neighborhood concept has been developed with the partner HRS. For the implementation, a partial revision of the zoning plan is necessary, which is expected to be voted on next year.

Infrastructure cooperative planned

Both affordable rental apartments and condominiums are to be built. The basis and unifying element for a lively and well-mixed residential quarter is to be a common neighborhood meeting place, which will be operated by an infrastructure cooperative. In this cooperative, both tenants and owners have a say and can shape the new neighborhood according to their common needs.

The planning basis for the project is the recently adopted municipal model. This envisages "mixed use with appropriate proportions of affordable housing and rental housing" on the Valbella site. A corresponding consultation is expected to take place in the fall of 2023. The referendum on the partial revision of the zone plan is then scheduled for next year. (aw)
