The Hydrel site north of the town center of Romanshorn (TG), which was previously used for commercial purposes, is about to be converted. The parcel, which covers a good 11,400 sqm and is to be developed with residential buildings, is located on Lake Constance between the northernmost harbor basin and the lakeside resort.

The indicative project by the offices of Max Dudler AG and Vetschpartner Landschaftsarchitekten envisages a high-quality residential quarter with reference to the adjacent Seepark and the lakeshore. According to the city of Romanshorn, it includes more than 100 apartments of various sizes with an investment volume of CHF 80 to 90 million. Plans also call for a neighborhood coffee shop, co-working spaces, a daycare center and studios. Various height offsets are intended to give the development a small-scale and diverse appearance, according to the planning report. By placing the buildings on the old seawall, a height offset is created that forms a caesura between the publicly used lake park and the residential use.

The public consultation for the design plan will run until May 14. (ah)
