The city council of Arbon (TG) has granted HRS a building permit for a four-story alternative project in standard construction at the current Metropol site. Plan A, however, remains the "Riva" project, the developer informs.

The people of Arbon will vote on "Riva" in June. If it fails at the ballot box, the alternative project will go ahead. According to the information, this project fulfills all building law standards. HRS is therefore confident that the building permit will soon become legally binding after any further legal remedies have been exhausted. The alternative to "Riva" envisages a four-story private residential development with 48 condominiums and an underground parking garage.

The "Riva" project favored by HRS had emerged from an architectural competition. It includes areas for catering halls, meeting rooms, hotel rooms and public access to the park and the lake. By presenting the alternative project at an early stage, HRS wanted to provide clarity as to what would be built on the site of the former Hotel Metropol in the event that the original project was rejected.
