Beringen: Canton and municipality want to develop business park

The canton of Schaffhausen owns the approximately 10,000 square meter plot 3381 in the middle of the industrial area of Beringen. The site, popularly known as "Texas" because of its shape, is currently used for agricultural purposes. However, the canton and municipality are planning to develop it into an industrial park. Several companies are to set up there; they have already received several inquiries from companies based in Beringen about using the plot.

The canton and municipality would support an overall plan that includes the neighboring properties, according to a statement from the canton. The provisional timetable envisages that the area can be developed and sold to interested parties in 2025. (ah)
