Bern: City buys plot in Mattequartier
The seller of the buildings on Wasserwerkgasse is Energie Wasser Bern. The municipal council wants to repurpose and renovate the ensemble.
Bern's municipal council has decided to acquire the property at Wasserwerkgasse 17, 19 and 21 in the Matte district for CHF 4 million for the Land and Housing Policy Fund. The seller is Energie Wasser Bern.
Apartments and commercial and/or workshop space are to be realized at Wasserwerkgasse 19 and 21. The building at Wasserwerkgasse 17 will be used for the Classes bilingues de la Ville Berne. The costs for the conversion and renovation of the entire building ensemble are estimated at CHF 8.6 million. The conversion work is planned for 2029 and 2030. (ah)
