Stein: Former Novartis parking lot will probably be built over
A mixed-use development with almost 100 apartments is to be built on the former parking lot of the Novartis pharmaceutical company in Stein (AG).
The Breitenloh area on Schaffhauserstrasse in Stein (AG) is to be repurposed according to the municipality's plans. Until now, the almost 13,300 square meter site between Migros-Center and Schönaustrasse was home to 400 parking spaces belonging to the pharmaceutical company Novartis, but these are no longer needed.
The plans envisage the construction of four buildings with 96 apartments, commercial space and a parking garage. Specifically, a long block building with four full storeys and a reduced fifth storey is planned along Schaffhauserstrasse. Behind this, three transverse buildings with three full storeys are planned.
The public consultation is scheduled for August, and residents will be asked to decide on the project in December. (ah)
