Turgi: municipality wants to develop the station area
The municipality of Turgi in the canton of Aargau has drawn up a development plan for the area around the railroad station. The plan is primarily for residential development.
The municipality of Turgi (AG) is tackling the development of its railroad station area. According to the municipality, the area has been designated as a residential focus in the cantonal structure plan. In this context, an area of 2.1 hectares in the Weichlen area south of the railroad station has also been designated as a settlement area. It could be transferred to the building zone at a later date.
The concept envisages that the station area will be integrated into the existing settlement structure. The aim is to create a coherent settlement structure that links the existing center with the Bahnhofstrasse axis, the Bahnhof Nord and Süd areas and the Weichlen settlement expansion area. The master plan envisages two types of development: heavily greened garden districts as purely residential areas and the two districts directly adjacent to the railroad station on the Bahnhof Süd and Bahnhof Nord sites. Mixed-use buildings are possible here. (ah)
