Lucerne: KAB builds two apartment buildings
KAB Wohnraumgenossenschaft is replacing its residential buildings on Diebold-Schilling-Strasse with two new buildings.
For the first time in its history, KAB Wohnraumgenossenschaft is realizing a new building project. To this end, the cooperative is demolishing its properties at Diebold-Schilling-Strasse 29 and 31 near the Museggmauer and constructing two new buildings. The investment volume amounts to CHF 16 million.
The existing apartment buildings, built in 1946/47, offer a total of 18 apartments, while the new buildings will have a total of 24. They are expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2024.
KAB Wohnraumgenossenschaft was founded in 1991 by the Catholic Workers' Movement of the Canton of Lucerne, and since then the cooperative has only integrated existing properties into its portfolio. The houses on Diebold-Schilling-Strasse were acquired by KAB in 1997 from the former Winterthur insurance company. (ah)
