The textile chains C&A and Zara have terminated the rental agreements for their space in the Metalli shopping avenue in Zug. Zug Estates AG divided up the space and has now presented new tenants. Lidl Schweiz AG will open a new location with a sales area of over 1,600 square meters in the basement and part of the first floor of the current Zara space in spring 2024. Furthermore, two additional retail spaces will be created on the current Zara space on the first floor for leasing at the beginning of 2024. Talks for these two retail spaces are currently underway, according to Zug Estates.

New stores will also be created in the former C&A space. The first floor space is currently being divided into three retail units. Lush (Switzerland) AG, which specializes in handmade cosmetics, and bijouterie Maison Carat SA will open as early as autumn 2023. Contract negotiations for the third store unit are at an advanced stage, Zug Estates reports.

1,800 sqm office on the 1st floor

A conversion into offices has been initiated for the previous C&A retail space on the 1st floor. Two office spaces of around 900 square meters will be created. Construction work is underway and is expected to be completed in fall 2023.

C&A left its store in Metalli back in February. In spring, it was announced that Zara would be closing in the summer.

Zug Estates reorganizes its office space

Zug Estates AG also announces that it is merging its two existing locations in Zug and Rotkreuz and will move into its new offices in one of the two areas at the beginning of December 2023. (aw)
