According to Allreal, the company has acquired a 75,000 square meter property on Klosterstrasse in Winterthur (ZH) from Maschinenfabrik Rieter AG. The sale will be notarized in the next few days, the company writes in a press release. The transfer of ownership is expected to take place in fall 2023. The purchase price is CHF 96 million.

The site in Winterthur-Töss is a focal point of the city's 2040 development concept. "In view of the very good quality of the location in a changing area, the site has attractive long-term development potential," says Allreal. In a first step, the framework conditions for the development are now to be defined in dialog with the city and the authorities. The plan is to create "modern working and living space with supra-regional appeal". Reference is also to be made to the textile industry, which has shaped the area.

Allreal is building a new campus with headquarters and research facilities for Rieter on the site. Renowned companies from the technology sector will also be located there. According to a presentation by Rieter, the campus itself is not part of the transaction.

Allreal intends to take over the existing tenancy agreements on the site and refurbish and gradually re-let unlet areas over the next few years. (aw)
