A new hotel with around 200 rooms is to be built to the east of the development around Interlaken Ost station square. The area is currently used as a Park+Ride. In 2021, Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG (BOB), the owner of the site, signed a project development agreement with Baulink. The latter intends to plan and build a hotel at Interlaken Ost station with the help of investors. In the meantime, a planning agreement has been signed between the municipality of Interlaken, the general contractor Baulink and BOB. The planned hotel development and the reorganization of the existing uses required the creation of development regulations. According to the municipality, the project is currently pending. According to the planning documents, 13,500 square meters are to be created above ground. (aw)
